Getting People Off The Dating Apps &
Meeting in Real life
In a world full of swipes and isolation, too many Black women and men are succeeding in everything—except love. Behind the glow of our achievements lies a quiet epidemic of loneliness that’s breaking families before they begin. Kombye was created to heal that.

Using location-based technology, Kombye helps mature, professional Black singles get off the apps and into real-life spaces—restaurants, comedy shows, art walks, and faith gatherings—where authentic connection can blossom. It’s not just about dating; it’s about rebuilding the village. Users can check in, submit local businesses, and find events that bring our community together again.

Kombye’s impact goes far beyond romance. It strengthens the foundation of Black love, restores community pride, and creates safe spaces where no woman, man, or child is left behind. Because when we meet each other in person, we remember who we are: a people built on connection, laughter, and faith.

With support, Kombye will turn this movement into a nationwide platform for healing—one check-in, one conversation, and one love story at a time.

About the Founder — Del Harrison

Before lighting up stages as a nationally touring comedian, Del Harrison spent 14 years in the world of Information Technology, building a career grounded in precision, logic, and innovation. She rose through the ranks from Executive Support at Booz Allen Hamilton to Network Administrator at Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein, mastering how systems connect, communicate, and function seamlessly.

But when Del transitioned into entertainment full time and built her life in Los Angeles, she noticed a different kind of disconnect — one not in code, but in community. As a single, successful Black woman, she often found herself asking, “Where are the Black men?” Meanwhile, the men she met were asking the very same question about Black women.

That gap inspired Kombye — a platform designed to get Black mature professional singles off the apps and back into real-life connection. Combining her tech background, comedic heart, and passion for healing her community, Del created Kombye to rebuild love, strengthen families, and end the epidemic of loneliness — one meaningful encounter at a time.
