The Help School is Back Open

The help school is back open!  I took a workshop one day from Dion Rambo called Contract Ready.  It teaches Black people on how to get contracts from the city.  I remember him saying "don't try to get a contract for yourself, think of how you can help your community or your family and friends and propose a contract for them." 

Immediately, my only child mind went to self, for 1) because I'm in entertainment and couldn't quite see how I can procure a contract in entertainment that would help my circle; and, 2) because I had just decided when the year turned, that I would not be putting time and effort into anything except for myself.

I had just been "burned" in my mind from helping people so....
Anyway, the Lord starting putting certain people on my heart to "help" and I know it's the Lord because they will not leave the forefront of my mind until I have completed the task.  Then I realized that I didn't need to "not help people" but to discern whom I  helping so that I'm not expecting anything in return. 

See: the people that I expect something from in exchange for my services are people I should not be helping at all, unless we have a mutual agreement on these expectations. When I help people that the Lord puts on my heart, it's an absolutely joy to advance them with no expectations of return.

The minute I opened the help school is the minute the Lord opened up so many other doors.  It then put it back into perspective for me that helping (serving) is one of the keys to the kingdom and its many gifts. 

It allows us to pour out and be poured into.  So many doors.  So many opportunities.  The Lord said try me in this and see won't I open up a window of blessings that you won't be able to catch them all.  He meant said this about paying tithes, which I do faithfully, but I know he also meant this about helping since they're based on the same principle.

I'm absolutely feeling the overflow from helping others.  And that contract opportunity I mentioned earlier, I actually did pitch the city something that involved an opportunity for everyone that I work.  God it feels good to do good.
