WEEKLY RANTS
|
![]() The help school is back open! I took a workshop one day from Dion Rambo called Contract Ready. It teaches Black people on how to get contracts from the city. I remember him saying "don't try to get a contract for yourself, think of how you can help your community or your family and friends and propose a contract for them." Immediately, my only child mind went to self, for 1) because I'm in entertainment and couldn't quite see how I can procure a contract in entertainment that would help my circle; and, 2) because I had just decided when the year turned, that I would not be putting time and effort into anything except for myself. I had just been "burned" in my mind from helping people so.... Anyway, the Lord starting putting certain people on my heart to "help" and I know it's the Lord because they will not leave the forefront of my mind until I have completed the task. Then I realized that I didn't need to "not help people" but to discern whom I helping so that I'm not expecting anything in return. See: the people that I expect something from in exchange for my services are people I should not be helping at all, unless we have a mutual agreement on these expectations. When I help people that the Lord puts on my heart, it's an absolutely joy to advance them with no expectations of return.
